Leith chimneys

Not a good day on the whole, although it did get better as it went on which is always preferable to the other way round. Spent the entire morning attempting to deal with An Unpleasant Situation (courtesy of The Proper Job) which is still not entirely resolved.

Went out to get some fresh air, but blips were not evident to me. Wrong frame of mind. Still, I liked the look of the light on these old walls in Leith and remembered that rows of chimneys always seem to be popular at Cabbagetree Cottage!

Spent the entire afternoon in a deep gloom wondering where I'd filed my contract and how much notice I'd have to work.

Things definitely started to look up this evening when we went out for an excellent sit-down fish supper at the Tailend on Leith Walk followed by an undistinguished but welcome pint of Deuchars in Robbies on the way home. All human life was there, or most of it.

Now back home to drink a bit more beer and watch "A Day at the Races". I should be OK by bed time.
