Thistledown on barbed wire.


The fantail has been coming and going as though he owns the place. He probably thinks he does. The first time my son was in the room and the fantail was scolding just as they do in the forest when you blunder into their territory. An angry male meets you at his border, flits from branch to branch above your head scolding loudly, until you reach the other invisible border just a few metres away. Then another fantail takes over as you pass through his territory. Today the "neighbour" in the mirror was fought off several times and he increased his patch by annexing my bedroom. It's just as well he doesn't scold me as much as he does my son.
