Alaskan snow pheasant - in camoflage gear!
Our home sits on the valley floor of the river Tay, surrounded by arable fields, Craigvinean forest and a large sporting estate. Here, every year thousand of game birds are bred and we have noticed many of these pure white pheasants this year strutting their stuff!
Poor wee things! Such easy targets for the hunters in the autumn. They stand out a mile, hard to miss.
They are called the Alaskan Snow pheasant and is a fairly common mutation of the regular ring neck type.
Bill is recovering well from the eye op and is resting up as advised. He is amazed at the improvement in his vision, particularly long distance.
Thanks to you all for your very kind commemts.
Tomorrow will be our 100th Blip!! woo hoo!!
