Home Alone!!
A very relaxing bubble-bath was called for this evening, reading my magazine and listening to music. Bliss.
It's been a long day - I was in work super early, which allowed me to disappear later on in the morning to despatch Grandmama and Echo to the not-very-appealing and a-bit-of-a-dive coach station on the edge of the city centre.
Two coach-loads finally pulled away an hour later than the scheduled departure time, but not before me standing in a scrum to get them on the damn thing! There was no organisation there and it was utter chaos. Couples were split between coaches and children were apart from parents - it was just a nightmare, but they eventually got going.
That was at 11:45am. Grandmama has been texting updates throughout the day - they're now in Germany, have stopped for supper and now changed into slippers and snuggled under the blankets that I gave them. So it seems they're settled in for the night and as I blip, they shouldn't be far away from Hanover. I'm looking forward to reading all about their trip when they're back on British soil.
...As for the other coach, I've heard that it broke down this side of the Polish border. Not good for the poor buggers on it - they're apparently stranded at a service station somewhere. Am I glad my girls weren't on that one. My fingers are crossed that they get back to London without incident.
