Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Ocean in View

This morning we drove to the coast. The sky was dark; the air was cool. The ocean was lonely (but lovely).

Years ago the two of us would have been bummed-out (disappointed) if the sun were not burning brightly because he would have been wearing his baggies and I would have worn my bikini. We would have wanted to bake in the sun until we were burned and bronzed. Today we were thrilled to view the wet sand, to listen to the churning waves, and to wear our jackets (I no longer own a bikini -- sheesh!!)

Breakfast at "The Beachcomber Cafe" in Crystal Cove was delicious: poached eggs, fresh fruit, whole grain toast.

After we ate, we drove a little further south to Laguna to drop off my broken iPod at a place that specializes in fixing them. When we stopped at the Mac Store a month or so ago, they said, "An iPod that's dead, is dead!" The Mac folks offered to sell us a new one for several hundred dollars, and take our old one as well. No thanks!

This afternoon, back home and looking south, the clouds are boiling over the local hills and the view is spectacular. It looks stormy, but it won't rain.

It has been a terrific Monday. It is also the 17th and that is absolutely my favorite day of every month; I am halfway to my favorite month, but actually I like them all.

In just a little while I need to be in my online office to meet students in the chat room, so I better get ready. The semester is about over -- one more quiz and one more in-class essay. Then we'll open the door to the classroom and summer will be waiting for us. Oh boy!

Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
