Homecoming through ash-laden skies...

The view from the plane as we finally - after many, many false starts and delays - head back home from an amazing visit to Armenia.

Eventually the airports opened, and we made it to terrafirm, albeit not to the city we originally intended, but at least the right country!

So, am a bit of weary traveller, but certainly an enriched one. Armenia is a place you run out of superlatives for pretty quickly. Such a huge experience - both the fabulous colleagues I was so privileged to spend time with and hear about their work at the conference, and getting to know this amazing country and its gorgeously warm and vibrant people.

Definitely one to add to your travel list - and if you ever get the chance, then jump at it. One word of advice though - be prepared to be asked to give toasts, and lots of 'em - it's worth keeping a few up your sleeve in advance!
