Morning has Broken
After an organised Dawn Chorus walk on Saturday, Bald Eagle and me decided to do our own thing this morning and reached our chosen spot just after sunrise. The fisherpeople seemed rather surprised to see anyone without a rod at that time of day (5.30am) on a Sunday, but it was well worth it. The peace and bird-song competed for dominance of the ears, the light was fabulous and we lingered longer than expected. As the birds cut down on the singing and got busy with the business of the day we were rewarded by finding a pair of Greater Spotted Woodpeckers feeding their demanding young.
