My view at breakfast
Running off to the airport in a an hour and have yet to pack. Thought I'd post an image now (and then add some more text later).
After Anette went I decided to add some color to this wall and the counter. We used to sit at the bar stools here and have our breakfast, it is warm next to the fire and it was cozy, but we always looked at an ugly white wall. (In summer we sat outside when we could).
A friend of mine (Phil) and I went to a store in Stockholm to look for tiles, but when they told us that there was an 8 week ordering time, I decided to just buy all the samples and rejects that they had available. All the tiles are handmade. French, Italian, Dutch and English. The three larger tiles with Angels on them are English. We also collected up the shells and small stones which the kids had collected over numerous beach holidays, and begged a few from friends, and mixed them in as well.
This is just the one side. It continues around behind the fireplace to the left.
I think Anette would have loved it.
Of course better viewed large or even on Smugmug.
