Sunday League

I thought long and hard about posting this image. It may offend and it may shock but I see blipfoto as a place to not only display 'nice' images but also to highlight significant events in day to day life. This is Luchy, a good friend, who was assaulted this morning on a football pitch. We were 4-1 up with about ten minutes to play when all hell broke loose. I suppose incidents like this are what give football a bad reputation but there is no accounting for what an individual might do and it shouldn't be allowed to spoil the game for those of us who play for fun. He's currently in hospital with a fractured cheek bone and possibly a fractured eye socket. I imagine the tosser that did it is probably feeling proud of himself but I hope not.
