A bit of a rubbish photo, but I didn't want to disturb her too much.
This nest is under the Bernard Street Bridge over the Water of Leith, with buses and cars thundering by overhead, but also quite hidden. The sticks and mud are supplemented by the ubiquitous flotsam of beer cans, bottles, expanded polystyrene and food wrappers....

For those who don't know, two of the resident swans on the lower reaches of the Water died in spring; the widowed female at Murrayfield has successfully hatched some cute cygnets and this female has paired with the widowed male, with the results you see!
Very cheering :)

Sorry for the poor commenting record, my head has not been in blip-space recently....
