Majestic
Backblip
So it doesn't really come out on the camera, but these trees down near the shore near Applecross were really impressive, very tall and majestic, lined up along the hill-top like sentries keeping an eye out for pirates.
Good cooked brekkie at the B&B today, so close to blipping that instead. Makes me want a fry-up right now.
We walked some trail around the back of Applecross, over the back, and round the allegedly famous "Roes Walk" (no typo), a.k.a. "Flower Tunnel". It was, by all accounts, a lovely walk lined with rhododendrons. Alas, they are now considered an invasive weed, and had been severely cut back and burned to stumps. We didn't mind, having been warned in advance by our B&B lady, but I felt sorry for the German family we met at the end of the trail who asked in broken english where the flower tunnel was. They were sad when I explained that all that was left were the black stumps they'd walked past.
Made it to a cafe for lunch, just in time to shelter from the rain. When that stopped we headed back to the car and explored the coast south of Applecross a little.
Then, just for fun, we headed back to the B&B, despite knowing that the lady was hosting a 9th birthday party with something like 20-odd screaming kids. You know, just for a bit of peace and quiet. I honestly can't remember why we did that. Curse my back-blippery.
Dinner was one of the largest plates of nachos ever, and highest ratio of chilli to nachos I've ever seen. There were only a handful of actual nachos. I couldn't finish, the meat sweats were already kicking in by the end. Another close contender for today's blip. That was at the cafe at the Applecross camp site, should you be interested.
Finally finished off the night with a bit of TV action, and falling asleep on the couch.
