Little Egret

While the weather is hot, we have taken to going out very early in the morning. I didn't want to get up this morning when the alarm clock went off at 5:00 am but I'm glad I did because I saw this egret at very close quarters while the morning was still cool and just overcast enough so that the feathers didn't blow out.

In the afternoon, a surprise visit from daughter number 3, so cold drinks, catching up on lots of family gossip and a first viewing of her younger daughter's prom pictures. Lovely! Although I still find it very odd to be having proms in Britain.
