Its Hot
Would be an understatement. I could guess that none of the runners in this years Junior Inter-Regional Orienteering Championships (JIRCs) were looking forward to their run. The JIRCs this year were held on an army base called SENTA in the Brecon Beacons (South Wales) and it must have been about 28 degrees, the worst bit was the sun as it was the sun which was the hottest I can ever remember, at least north of spain...
This is me on the run-in (last point to the finish) after nearly an hour running 8km and climbing about 300m (i.e uphill not vertical) through tussocky terrain and the heat. Despite this I did enjoy myself and finished 9th on a very fast area (2nd Yorkshire counter.. Yorkshire team )
Yes Im mad.
Today and Sunday have been back-blipped, please have a look, thanks.
