surely you can see

This is the front rack of a bike belonging to one of our members. He's an ex-con, I guess, although I can't imagine what he did. Extremely nice guy, was sort of taking care of one of his colleagues at the shelter and keeping him out of trouble (the guy got transferred to some sort of group home in Dayton this week, which is sad but good in the long run - it ought to be a good place for him).

Anyway, this is his front rack. He has a rear rack, too. The shelter guys often don't have a whole lot of stuff, and they tend to take very good care of their bikes and be at least attached to them as those of us who could easily replace our bikes - probably much more.

My silly little entry on Sunday was photographically relevant - I was acting a little differently than I normally do. This volunteer, though, is really the opposite of me - I've had almost every opportunity and he doesn't get a lot of breaks. We're not total opposites, though - we both do what we can to help people (and on occasion the same people).

It's funny how this assignment has sort of creeped into my brain and become a lot more interesting than I would have thought.
