I had a massive number of blips possible by just ten o'clock this morning simply by reason of sitting in the garden having made a change to the contents of 2 of the 4 bird feeders in the garden. Somehow, having put some sunflower hearts out, we've been found by a swarm of Greenfinches, as well as some gorgeous Goldfinches. And then two juvenile Blue Tits turned up - too much of a coincidence that our Blue Tits just had two fledglings?

But then the fox turned up. Clearly young he was chased out of the garden, away from the chicken runs, on half a dozen occasions, but kept on coming back. By the time of the shot I was 7-8 feet away. A welcome reminder to keep an eye on the girls when they're free ranging...

Anyway, we headed out to East Lothian and Hailes Castle to see the Swallow nestlings, before heading along the River Tyne and being buzzed by a De Haviland Vampire (presumably arriving in the area for the East Fortune airshow tomorrow), before getting a classical wheat field shot. And as if that wasn't enough we then walked from Hailes Castle up Traprain Law.

As you can see there were plenty of bliportunities after ten o'clock as well...

Good day, to be rounded off with a trip to the Kitchin tonight, before I ride out tomorrow morning for the aforementioned airshow. But before all of that we're into the last 7km in today's Tour de France stage, and I'm going to sort out the bike for tomorrow and let the chooks out (therefore being able to be out with them in case of fox-visit).
