Elite Guard
Backblip (the third of many to cover ten days holiday):
Second full day in Prague and our first serious sightseeing day. Today we visited Prague Castle (more of a complex of palaces, churches, museums etc than a castle really). To protect the place they have quite a number of guards around the place and we were lucky to spot one of the four-legged Elite Guards. The Guards that weren't striding around the place seemed to be stored in boxes until they were needed.
It was still very hot today although we did have a very brief spell of rain just before visiting St Vitus cathedral which really is impressive inside. We also visited the Royal Palace which had fantastic views across Prague.
Other highlights of the day were too numerous to list here but worthy of a mention here was a visit to the Mirror Maze in Petrin park and my daughter managing to select the most expensive drink in the whole of Prague Castle (a small bottle of Fanta that cost 120 Crowns....I could have bought four pints of Czech beer for that amount!).
