Granville Island Public Market

Our first full day in Vancouver.

It's a holiday weekend here. There is a good atmosphere around the place. It was Gay Pride day today which saw a carnival take over the whole of Robson Street. 

Tomorrow is BC (British Columbia) day. I think most places are closed and public transport will be limited. If it's anything like bank holidays in the UK there'll be rubbish movies on tv too.

We headed to Granville Island this afternoon. It's home to a massive market. As I've said before, we're fans of markets!  It's on every day, but Sunday is the day it's at it's best. Some fine arts and crafts and food and drink was to be found. I think we'll be back a few times to this place.

It's accessible either by road or by small ferry. We walked over and took the boat back. This photo was taken on the bridge over. The market can be seen in the foreground and downtown Vancouver behind it.
