Sox is Found & Home at.......
Last.
After delivering over 200 leaflets with the help of D.Daughter, we had just arrived home & got a knock on the door. One of the neighbours who I had spoken to earlier had seen Sox drag himself under her parked car. Apparently a taxi had pulled up on the pavement close to her drive & frightened Sox from what much have been his hiding place for the previous 3 days. We can only conclude that he was hit by a car & pure instinct had made him find a good hiding place not far from where his accident had taken place & that when the 'taxi' (car) had pulled in so close to his hideout he saw it as another huge threat to him & tried to move to safety again.
Luckily the neighbour knew that we were looking for him & where to find us!
He has then spent 3 days at the veterinary hospital in great distress, acting like a ferrel cat. The vets have been very anxious to get him home to lower his stress levels. But, unfortunately he had broken one of his hips in 2 places & one of the fractures needed to be operated on so a plate could be attached too fix his hip back together. The other fracture has to heal naturally, by keeping him in a cage for quite some time, at least this can be done at home.
He is very happy to be home, we are very happy to have him back. Its been quite an ordeal. Too think, if the taxi had not pulled up in that exact spot, at the exact time the neighbour was outside & we had not spoken to her earlier so she knew we were looking for him, he may still be out there in hiding, suffering.......
When we got him home, whilst trying to settle him in his 'cage' he managed to climb on to my lap & fall to sleep, he was just desperate for a cuddle. I managed to get a few pics with my iphone before having too put him back into his 'new home' for the night.
He just needs lots of TLC, peace & quiet & of course his medication......
Which should lead to a 100% recovery, but if not there are further things that can be done for him.
A very big thank you for all the wonderful comments on my last blip, when Sox was still missing xxxx it helped immensely ......
