Harty Ferry

This lovely spot is near Faversham in Kent. The stretch of water is the river Swale and it separates the Isle of Sheppey from the rest of the county. It's also the site of the annual Thames sailing barge races; the largest boat in the shot is a sailing barge. This shot is taken from the Kent side if the river and all around are the Oare marshes - a nature reserve and a site of international importance for wetland birds. And it's also jolly peaceful even when your monopod carrier is bored and would rather be curled up with his Gameboy or whatever.

In large you can almost smell the sea.....
