Flakturm

Shopped some books at my favourite bookstore in the afternoon and got a haircut. In addition the weather was great, so I spent some time at Esterhazypark reading and taking pictures of the Flakturm there.

Three pairs of anti aircraft gun towers erected by the Nazis between 1942 and 1945 are spread across Vienna. They form a triangle with the inner city being the center. They have been built in such a solid manner that it would be much to expensive to raze them, so this one for example houses an aqua-terra zoo and offers a viewing platform and a climbing wall (and a blip subject).

Interestingly the gun platforms remind a little bit of Mickey Mouse's ears...
