Vicky's Sweet 16/VBS - Day 4
There is a lot to say about today, so bear with me til the end.
First I will discuss our fourth day of VBS, but I think that this picture pretty much sums it up, so click that and then come back and continue reading.
Today's word of the day was CARE. We learned a song for tomorrow's word of the day, too--which is SHARE. That is my favorite song of the bunch...and I may be the only one who picks it as their favorite song tomorrow. Of wells, I like it!
Anywho so that picture that you clicked on before, the one where my TA is COVERED head to toe in shaving creme...yeah. Usually Thursdays are "wet Thursdays" at games, and this Thursday was, but someone also decided to bring shaving creme into the mix and each of our third graders held out their hands to be filled with shaving creme so that passing a water balloon back and forth was more difficult.
Don't get me wrong, it looked like a lot of fun--at first--me and Maria even participated. But then, the kiddies got some ideas in there heads and next thing you know, I had hand prints of shaving creme down my back, one of the TAs had shaving creme, well, all over her like in the above picture, and every single kid in our class was either covered in water, shaving creme, or a mixture of both. For most it was the mixture.
Aside from that, I guess you could say the day went rather smoothly, but I would prefer it if shaving creme wasn't brought into the mix in future years.
Oh and almost forgot to mention, today our class celebrated backwards shirt day and crazy hair day. The little chickitas came in with pretty interesting hairdos..
Day Four of VBS - successful with a few bumps in the road
And now to talk about the picture I chose for my actual blip:
Today was Victoria's Sweet 16. Yes, that's right folks it actually came. She looked so pretty in her ball gown (pictured above). Her make-up came out great too! And her shoes? A pair of pink converse sneakers =D.
The party was so much fun. I didn't stop dancing the whole night and I'm pretty sure Victoria had a good time! I hope she did because everything turned out amazing.
And what dress did I wear, you ask? Some of you might remember that I went through three dresses until I could find a fourth dress that was approved by my mother and the Sweet 16 girl--otherwise, I would've gone in sweatpants. Here is a picture of the three of us. I'm on the right and I do have to say, I loved my dress--pockets and all.
I got my 93 year old Grandma to dance and do some turns, brought my other Grandma and Grandpa out onto the floor, danced with all the little cousins and big cousins, ate wayyyy too many appetizers with Lauren and Jaimie, killed my feet in a pair of shoes that shouldn't have killed my feet, and danced until me, Michelle, Lauren, Vicky, and Mommy were the last ones on the dance floor.
Victoria's Sweet 16: successful with minimal arguments =D
Yayyy! Good day. Happy Sweet 16 Vicky!! =]
