VBS - Day 5 and Friday the 13th! BOO!

I guess I sort of fell off the face of the BlipEarth this week. I know I've really been slacking when it comes to blips, but it has been such a busy week with VBS and my sister's sweet 16 that I haven't been able to post my photos. They are all up now though, so you should go back to Monday to see how my crazy, but great week went! I'll be going back to look and comment on all of your blips shortly to catch up with everyone.



Day 5 of VBS is the last day. We still play games and do crafts, but the singing songs part is brought up to another level because the kids put on a performance for their parents on Friday night in the church of all of the songs that they learned over the course of the week.

This is a picture from left to right of my sister, Jenn, Margie, Maria, and me. Margie (second from the left) is the woman who runs VBS each summer--a volunteer position. She is absolutely amazing and maybe one of the kindest people I have ever known. Her family is right up there with her. The entire family volunteers so much of their time and energy year round to make VBS amazing each summer. Without them, and especially her, it wouldn't be the same and it would be hard for anyone else to make VBS as successful. I can't thank Margie and her family enough for everything that they do!



In other news:
Today is Victoria's real 16th birthday. Yesterday was her Sweet 16 party. My cousin, Lydia, couldn't make it to the party because she was leaving for school early the next morning, but she sent a cake that she baked special for Victoria with her mother, so we used that as Vicky's birthday cake for her real birthday. I just think it was adorable of her to bake that in the first place!
