Art in Town VIII
"Then, without realizing it, you try to improve yourself at the start of each new day; of course, you achieve quite a lot in the course of time. Anyone can do this, it costs nothing and is certainly very helpful. Whoever doesn't know it must learn and find by experience that a quiet conscience makes one strong."
~Anne Frank
I had been saving this wonderful grouping, with the mare entitled Stone Horse, for a special occassion and I supposed my 100th blip qualified. They are right outside of work here and the only bunch I've seen with foals.
So much has happened since I joined blip in March - I never imagined it would take me so long to get to 100 blips, but sometimes life is like that. I find the process is good for me, both in that it encourages me to look at my life through a different set of eyes and be a little bit creative or artistic each day. So much of my job is precise, exacting, black and white... and yet here, there is no right or wrong, just beauty. So much of my job is being hypercritical and suspicious of everything, so having a community to share another side of myself, a community as supportive and encouraging as this one, is a blessing.
I don't quite remember what I expected to get out of this exercise, but I am sure my life has been enriched far beyond my wildest expectations by it. "Of course, you achieve quite a lot in the course of time."
The others in the series are here: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, and VII.
