County Show today. The climax of the agricultural show week in Orkney.

Steven was working and Ruairidh refused to "Wander about looking at coos." so Campbell and me had the rare treat of a day with just each others company.

We did indeed wander about looking at coos... and sheep and goats and hens and ducks and horses... and craft stalls and tractors and food and nails in bales and bottle stalls and hen houses and show jumping and carriage driving and dogs firing canons and combine harvesters and penalty shoot outs.

We also chatted to lots of folk. Walked for miles and miles. To finish off the day I took Campbell for his first shot on the waltzers.

Thank goodness it only happens once a year.
