turning back every now and then

This little girl and boy walked past us today as we were leaving Mu'iz Street, cameras filled with pictures, but when I snapped this one, I knew I had gotten the perfect photo. She was carrying a little white purse, the boy, probably her brother, walking with his arm draped over her shoulder, half protective, half playful.

As she walked past us, she must have caught sight of Scorpionkiss' long hair (always a head turner in Cairo) and her first reaction was hilarious. (Trust me, you want to see the look on her face.) When she noticed that we were both looking straight at her, she started laughing, and finally she walked on ahead of us, still turning back every now and then, smiling at us.

It was the perfect way to end yet another perfect walk through our favourite street in Cairo.
