Magnificent magnolias

As I predicted yesterday, the wet weather has set in. It's been a cold and cloudy day in Wellington, with heavy rain spreading from the south in the late afternoon.

I went for a walk in the Botanical Gardens at lunch time. It's late winter in New Zealand, and the magnificent magnolias are blooming. I had to take a shot of these beautiful flowers.
