No Strings Attached

Today was minimum day and the day Liam's been looking forward to....the day he got to meet his 'strings' instructor. The instructor agreed to come to their school and teach a strings class if there was enough interest. It appears there are only going to be about 6 or 7 kids joining the class on Wed. minimum days (the same time band practices). Mrs. Wilcox came in with her schedule and violin user agreement ready for the parents and kids. We lucked out....she's renting out the violins to each of the kids for only $2.50 per semester plus lesson costs! So she fitted each of the kids for the correct sized violin and will be bringing them at the first lesson next week. Before leaving, she had the kids practice holding a violin (a.k.a. paperback book) under their chins while their other arms were crossed over their chests ready to hold the 'bow'. She played a couple of songs for the captive audience before dismissing everyone to go home. She's been on this earth for quite some time and also has a history with our local college and orchestra...so she brings with her alot of experience & talent to teach Liam and the other kiddos.

The evening was typical....homework, soccer, dinner and bedtime with very little time in between for much else.
