Spring Sunshine

I drove to Christchurch today. For the first half of the drive the rain was absolutely torrential. I've never driven in rain like it before. What should have taken an hour and a half was over two hours of driving and I was very much regretting the journey. But when I got down into Canterbury the sun came out and it was a beautiful spring day.

I photographed a number of really impressive "puddles" the size of lakes but the photos somehow didn't show the scale of the flooding, so I settled for a beautifully "spring countryside" shot instead. New Zealand at her best.
