one of my best friends in the WORLD--
someone who has held my hand as I've cried MULTIPLE times about school and boys and life,
someone who has made me laugh every single day since I've met him,
someone who is so full of love and goodness,
someone who is one of the kindest, most intelligent people I have ever MET and will undoubtly change the world...
was a victim of a hate crime yesterday morning.

I should not have to get up in front of 2000 students with tears in my eyes to make a point.
one of my best friends, his girlfriend, should not be afraid to visit his room for fear of what might happen because she is a different color than him.
he should not feel like he has to be surrounded by people just so he can walk to class.

THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.
