Room with a view

The firm I work for isn't necessarily top of the Premier League when it comes to decision-making, but I have to say it has scored a winner with its choice of new offices.

Today was my first opportunity to work there and the facilities were superb. The attention to detail was most impressive - huge photographs of local scenes on walls and screens, smart glass-fronted side-rooms, stylish seating and a smart, well-equipped kitchen.

But the best feature was the view from very large windows around two sides of the offices. The photo above is taken from behind my desk and shows Cheltenham's St Gregory's Roman Catholic Church with Cleeve Hill in the background.

Look out of another window and you see this bridge and, in the far distance, the Malvern Hills.

It was genuinely exciting to work there and I think it has given everyone a lift. I haven't heard anyone criticise the place.

Nice to have something positive to report on the work front!

* On this occasion, the flaws on the image are due to it being shot through a mucky window!
