Bike Rack

That huge hole in this shot wasn't there yesterday. The tooth had been wobbling around in her mouth for weeks and since about four days ago the tooth appeared to be hanging by, almost literally, a thread. It's not that Nienke didn't want it to get loose. No, she was almost compulsively trying to get that thing out.

Last night, about an hour after midnight, Nienke ran into our bedroom. She was all excited: finally the tooth was out! No tooth fairy stories around here, so after showing and dropping off the tooth Nienke went to her room again without any trouble and slept until it was time to get out again this morning.

Holland is bicycle country. Lots of public places have bike racks where anyone can 'park' their bike. Very often these racks are slots in which the front wheel of the bikes are placed. Maybe it's not even that weird then that gaps like the one Nienke has in her mouth here are called a 'bike rack' (fietsenrek) :-)
