In The Sun
Day off, so into London at lunchtime, walking first from Chancery Lane into the City. Had a good explore and ticked off a few pictures that I've been after for a while (Bank of England, Gherkin etc), went up the Monument for the first time (300+ steps) then down to Tate Modern to see the sunflower seeds (slightly disappointing). Finally walked parallel to the Thames towards Westminster - everywhere bathed in gorgeous golden sunlight, long shadows being cast. London couldn't look much better really.
Met J at her office then upto Baker Street for dinner at Bistro de Galvin - prix fixe menu and a bottle of sublime Chinon red from the vineyard I photographed back in April. Food: marinated Cornish sardines salad, beef livers with pancetta and sage, then pear crumble. Great.
A very nice day.
