Oriental Plane
I know it's an oriental plane because there's a plaque. The plaque says the tree was probably planted in the mid eighteenth century, which means it's about 250 years old - incredible! I hadn't read the plaque before, but I was attracted to the tree because I was looking for something to blip, and I noticed that the leaves were glowing in the low sun. (Another example of blip teaching me things about my local area that I hadn't noticed before!).
The tree is in the Waitrose car park in Wokingham, and is now "owned" by the John Lewis partnership (the plaque says so), so I feel it is in safe hands.
