Bangkok Garden

This is my garden. I began a week ago by cutting the top half off a plastic water jug (about the size of a gallon of milk) to make a "garden pot." I put some rocks at the bottom, and then some of my dorm friends helped me on my quest to find dirt. Behind the dorm is a slum and some open swamp area. A few super nice people had their son use a short metal pole to dig up some dirt near their house for me. I kept trying to tell them not to worry about it, but they insisted. After getting the dirt, I sprinkled the seeds on top, covered them with a little more dirt, and left my "pot" on the roof. I tried to make sure most of the students saw what I was doing so my garden wouldn't be seen as garbage and be thrown away. About a week of sunshine and watering later, up sprouted my baby green onions. They're making me happy, and I'm super excited about using them eventually.

I think I'll try planting some peppers next and maybe a cauliflower. Unfortunately, I don't think the pumpkin will fit on the roof, so it will have to wait until I can find a better spot.
