A Birthday Party

A 235th Birthday in fact. Ok, so it was the annual US Marine Corps' Ball. Any excuse for a knees up! In hindsight it wasn't as fun (or as glam) as the Irish Ball back in March but there were men in uniform...

We had a nice girly day beforehand - key words: bacon/eggs, shopping, nails, fizz. It was an early start at the Ball, and the ticket price included a free bar, which Heidi and I took full advantage of. We did move to the hotel's bar though (with our drinks) because there was a live band playing and its atmosphere was a tad better than the grand ballroom's. Some friends joined us and well, let's just say that it was a hat-trick of late finishes. Bed at 4am...
