Winter Rose

Roses never know when to give up, do they? Other flowers think 'oops, it's cold, stop flowering, hunker down and maintain energy for next Spring' but not roses. They just hang on, month after month, frosted, dusted with snow, heaped with snow, icy, blasted by the wind covered in black spot and still they refuse to fall.

No snow here in Edinburgh yet but 2 degrees C this morning so it can't be far away.
