Today was the open studios show at 1 Cottage Street in Easthampton, MA.

The girls all went over to cheer on our friend Kate Childs, one of our painter friends, who has her studio there. Her abstracts are wonderful! Lots of landscapes and seascapes, and some interesting new work that defies description, like a fluttery white painting of air.

Her place looked fabulous and she was in fine fettle. There were tons of people wandering through the building, an old factory that has been divided into small manufacturing and art studios. The hallways were strung with holiday lights and the scent of mulled cider was wafting everywhere.
