Aurora Station - 1900 (2010)
For 110 years the Aurora Station has handled passengers and freight. These day's it's only commuters like me on the GO train (Barrie-Toronto line). Back in 1853, the first train pulled in to Machell's Corners as Aurora was then known. The Grand Trunk Railroad operated though here for decades then the Canadian National Railway (CNR). This year a vintage train bell was installed in a new parkette sitting area next to the station.
Here is the town's page on the station with vintage photos - many of which also hang in the station which was renovated this summer. Another town page. Here is the wiki page on the station.
Yesterday's blip: Your university has a mall???!!!
