I need help!

No, not to wrap my Christmas presents but I need advice about a new camera. For a wee while now I've thought my camera was sick. Mr Mags tried to tell me it was the way I was taking the pictures but I really don't think it is. I think after 18 months of daily use my wee camera is needing a rest. I think it's the zoom lens that's not right or the focus or something. Now you see why I need help. I'm a point and click kind of girl! Can't be bothered reading manuals and all that technical stuff....... just press the buttons and see what happens. So........the question is........if I get a new camera.......what kind should it be?
