Contractor's Yard

Our current landlord in Northampton is a construction contractor, and this is the area behind his (and our) house.

There are more trucks and machines here than usual, so I thought it was worth a blip (the bits of snow are about all that have fallen so far this winter--we feel fortunate, although it has been very cold the last two days).

The building in the left rear with the gabled roof looks new--and it is. It replaced the house on Fair Street in Northampton that was set on fire by an arsonist nearly a year ago, at the end of last December. Two people died in that blaze--the only deaths in the arsonist's spree, but the arsonist set numerous others with much damage, as you can see and read here and here. I assume the arsonist is still in jail, awaiting judgment.
