Edinburgh's Ice Rink

Christmas picture number 23!

Today I was honestly struggling to find something a bit different to take a photo of for my Christmas theme, which is coming to an end.

I know that an ice rink is not something Christmas related, but the reason why I've taken a picture of it is because in Edinburgh we only have this particular open air ice rink in Princes Street Gardens during Chrismas time!!! So, I'm not cheating! :)

It was quite early in the morning, so you can't really see anybody skating. Just the wee penguins, hahaha. These penguins are not real, by the way, they're there to help you keep your balance if you're not great at skating :)

I love skating. I used to do artistic roller-skating when I was much younger and it was lots of fun. With ice skates I'm ok but I can't do the pirouettes in the air without falling on my bum at the end, hahahaha!

In higher spirits today, and pretty much ready for the big day!
Tomorrow we're having a cake share day at work, so everybody has to bring something they have baked. So, this evening I have tried and make my "new and improved" recipe of banoffee sponge. My working colleagues will be my guinea pigs. Hope they like it!

Not looking forward to doing the cleaning now though!
