UMTKD goes to Milan!

The Tae Kwon Do team went to a local tournament. i've been injured lately so i chose not to compete at this time but i went along for moral support and for taking pictures! This competition was mainly for our inexperience members to gain some actual practice not fighting each other and man, did they do well! we took home a bunch of golds (including both girls we had fighting) for novices and our guys took two golds and 2,3,4 in sparring.

unfortunately one of our new guys got knocked out...by one of our own! it was a scary situation to see him down on the ground confused, but its a hazard that comes with the territory.

this shot is of the only blackbelt we had fighting, emily. for blackbelts they used electronic chest protectors (hogus) and they were a little finicky. em is a fantastic fighter and its always cool to see her fight.
