Still Alive

Good night, Föri

Today, earlier than normally, the ferry Föri stopped moving passengers from one side of the river to the other. Instead there is an ice bridge crossing the river few hundred meters up to the river.

The pilots of the ferry are now unemployed for the rest of the winter.

This is just another result of the town trying to save money by outsourcing the ferry pilots.

Little did they know that it would result in worse service - nowadays the ferry takes more time to cross the river and it also waits long after the last visible person is on the ferry before it departs.

It seems as if the motivation of the pilots is not to serve the citizens, rather than to save money of their employer.

Yet, no worries - I'm often not in a hurry when crossing the river. I just don't always get it why the service has to be worsened when organizations are outsourcing.
