Deadlier than the Male
Two new visitors to the garden today, I grabbed the camera and took a few shots, they were a pair and fitted in nicely with all the goldfinch, bluetits, starlings and pidgeons that were in the garden at the same time. I reached for the RSPB pocket book to identify them when suddenly ALL the birds flew off. Why ? There hadn't been a sound, but when I looked and saw this beauty I knew immediately she was a Sparrowhawk. I took a dozen photos, she turned so you could see her magnificent chest here in a couple of them, those piercing eyes ! No birds returned and she flew off.
As for the new pair, I think they were Reed Bunting, I will keep an eye out for them again.
