Gallinula chloropus

Here's a moorhen.

I went to a nearby lake to take advantage of some lovely light and came back with frozen fingers and some disappointing results.

But the moorhen's quite nice.

Even more moorhenish when bigger.

Edit: Aw, poor moorhen with its funny feet. I know they look odd but look how effectively they grip the wet stones. Function over form, perhaps?
