Toothy!

What a great day we've had today!

This afternoon we had an exclusive trip for us volunteers! We had the same fabulous shark that came to the boat yesterday.

All seven of us got in the cage together (it usually holds five max so it was very cosy!!) and we were in there for about an hour with the shark coming to the cage every few minutes! Being in the Atlantic Ocean, the water is pretty cold (about 14 deg C) but it's amazing how well you can cope with cold water when you are eye to eye with a Great White Shark!

I really do feel privileged to see these magnificent animals in their own environment. 200 million sharks (of all types) are killed every year and most species have been reduced by 90% in the last few years. If we aren't careful, there won't be any of these amazing creatures left and the oceans will be in big trouble :-(
