Nepal Day1

Up early after flying into Nepal yesterday to get the flight to Lukla. This is one of the hairiest flights I'll ever be on dodging through the mountains and landing on a strip smaller than an American aircraft carrier. We were due to start walking straight away but unfortunately a couple of the guys luggage went from Bahrain to Mecca instead of Kathmandu. So we were kicking our heels in Lukla and a sense of excitement was building. Turned out that one of the Dalai Lamas leading monks was on a pastoral visit. So due to the lost luggage we were treated to the full pomp and ceremony of Tibetan buddhism, a great start to the trip.
