a morning in downtown.

grand rapids day 1!

the weather was amazing ALL DAY, besides the fact that it was freezing cold and windy.
however, we were stuck inside the hotel half the time, since sending out 90 kids free in a downtown area isn't the safest thing to do.

we started off the day with being guinea pigs for a well-known band director's clinic around 10 am, and giving the audience a slight preview of our actual concert (which is the day after, at 8 in the morning). we then were free to stroll downtown for lunch, and met up with the band again at 2 to rehearse.
rehearsal was amazing -- pumped with adrenaline, and were performing at our best.
breathing as one, playing as one.
the passion was unbelievable.
the rest of the day was rather lax -- we attended a wind symphony performance, played with some instruments around the booths, had dinner, and hung out the rest of the night.
