So close...

Finalist in the Wanderlust Travel Photo of the Year competition... winners announced at Destinations 2011 at Earls Court this afternoon... and I wasn't one of them. In true Oscar style though thanks to J, family, friends and colleagues for the uplifting support!

Gutted for a split second, but soon got over it and still had a fantastic afternoon at the show, viewing my entry in the gallery with pride, hearing one of the judges say "I could look at this picture for hours", and aside from the competition enjoying a few hours amongst the stands getting ideas for future trips (Namibia fly-drive 2012 is being mooted!).

Got a few top tips for winning in the future also - will try again. And it rounded off a great photographic twelve months - album sleeve, double page magazine spread, this.

Ended the day with dinner in Galvins on Baker Street, which was sublime as usual.
