Going back in time to the start of the worst times of my life.

She said "get me up, i'm drowning down here"
I said "how do you know what drowning feels like? you don't swim"

We shared a few more words and then she was gone.

left alone to heal with her now only in our hearts.
like ashes swept away earlier that morning
hers are all we have now to hold on to.
